A/d converter works

Analog to digital converter, a/d converter, or simply, ADC, usually refers to a electronic components that convert the analog signal into a digital signal. ADC is usually put through standard comparison of analog converted to binary number represents a discrete signal converter. An ADC requires a reference with any analog conversion of the standard, the more common reference standard for maximum conversion. Digital input and output signal relative to the size of the reference signal.

Many types of ADC, according to different working principles, can be divided into indirect and direct ADC ADC. Indirect time of ADC is to convert the input voltage or frequency, and then convert these intermediate digital, there are two commonly used integrating ADC. Direct ADC directly into digital signals, commonly used parallel type ADC and successive-approximation ADC.
